Today’s class focused on coding.We were introduced to various websites and resources to inform both us as educators and our future students about the world of coding. Coding can be integrated in various subjects such as math, art, and music. Resources include: Scratch, Grasshopper, Hour of Code, TinkerCad, and Code BC. The resources range in proficiency levels so that all learners whether beginner or more advanced can have fun and continue to learn. Embedded is a video of some of the coding that I did in Scratch; scratch is designed for beginner coders. If I can code, so can you!
As an educator, I believe it is important to educate yourself on a large variety of resources and tools so that you do not limit students to learning about things that you are passionate about. The most important thing to remember is that you do not need to be an expert in coding to introduce it you classroom!
