Today we split our class into groups; half of the class went to experience VR in the Digital Scholarship Commons while the remainder of the class stayed with Rich McCue to learn about the learning capabilities of augmented reality.
We worked with iPads and the HP Reveal app to discover auras hidden around our EDCI336 classroom. I was able to locate a few around the classroom. When the camera hovers over an ‘anchor’ within the room and augmented scene, video, picture, etc. will pop up to be viewed on the screen. Screenshots are shown below!

We were then able to create our own auras to share with our classmates. When choosing and anchor you must be careful that the object is unique and stationary. A few classmates and I chose the sticky note on my computer as an anchor. The sticky note reads “You are a star!” When one uses the HP Reveal app and hovers over this sticky note a video pops up; I have attached this video below.
