Twitter was one of those things that seemingly everyone on earth except me understood. Friends phones would have constant notifications accompanied by a little white bird and I would feel lost. Downloading twitter after all these years of being afraid of my misunderstandings was definitely not something I ever saw myself doing – especially for school. It was during class that I began to finally understand the amazing ways in which Twitter can be used to build communities of colleagues across entire continents – or even the world. I now know about different ways to interact with the platform such as TweetDeck, which makes the entire Twitter experience a little more digestible. Do I completely understand Twitter? Absolutely not. However, with a little practice and some much-needed guidance, I am positive I can figure it out.
